Hotaru is the reincarnation of the Princess of Saturn. She transforms into the Melancholic Fighter, Sailor Saturn. Hotaru's mother died when she was young, and she lives in seclusion with her evil father. Her father wasn't always evil, but he sold his soul to an entity known as Mistress Nine after a lab explosion killed Hotaru. In return for his soul, Hotaru was allowed to live. Even though Hotaru has no friends, and is lonely, ( kids are afraid of her, she possess a unique power of healing, and she can create enormous amounts of energy that can blast anything in her path, but she does this subconsciously.)she later becomes friends with Chibi-Usa and with the Sailor Scouts. Sailor Saturn is the leader of the Outer Senshi. Even though Hotaru is a caring and gentle soul, she has the power to destroy entities, fortresses, and even entire worlds.
